Semifive begins mass production of Samsung 4-nanometer AI inference accelerator
Semifive, a global AI custom semiconductor specialist, has begun large-scale production of a data-center AI inference accelerator. The company said it is mass-producing HyperAccel\'s inference accelerator, Verda, using Samsung Foundry\'s 4-nanometer process. It said this is its first large-scale production using Samsung\'s most advanced 4-nanometer node and expects further orders as HyperAccel expands services. Semifive reported 42.3 billion won in new mass-production orders in the first half.

Eldorado raises $9 million in Series A led by Paradigm to target Latin America cross-border payments
Venture capital firm Paradigm led a $9 million Series A funding round for Eldorado, a Latin America cross-border payments app, The Block reported on June 16. Coinbase Ventures and Verda Ventures also participated, the report said. Paradigm investment and research partner Ricardo de Arruda said cross-border payments in Latin America are an underappreciated opportunity, with more than $100 billion moving across borders annually despite slow and costly infrastructure.

Yahoo Japan-Line merger firm LY Corporation steps up integration with new Flava cloud
LY Corporation, formed through the merger of Yahoo Japan and Line, has begun a large-scale infrastructure integration to replace heavily customised OpenStack clouds with a new unified cloud called Flava, The Register reported on April 7. The company’s services have about 300 million monthly users. Flava will run on a single OpenStack cluster with more than 500 hosts and over 9,000 VMs. The firm aims to minimise custom patches and automate much of failure handling.
