Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission urges staggered Asian Games scheduling to protect viewing rights

South Korea\'s Broadcast Media Telecommunications Commission recommended that broadcasters covering the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games avoid excessive duplicate scheduling and instead stagger programming by channel and platform. It approved the recommendation at a written meeting on Sept. 4. Exceptions apply to the opening and closing ceremonies and matches involving South Korea’s national team. The commission also urged active coverage of less popular sports and new events such as e-sports, and recommended expanded broadcasts of the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games.
