Heart Aerospace flies battery-electric X1 prototype as United Airlines, Air Canada show interest
Heart Aerospace has completed the first flight of its battery-electric X1 prototype. The aircraft took off from Plattsburgh International Airport in upstate New York and flew for 27 minutes, reaching 1,100 feet, using only battery power. The company said the flight, including takeoff and landing, cost less than $5 in electricity. Heart plans to develop the 30-seat hybrid ES-30, targeting service entry in 2031.

U.S. SEC reviewed more than 1 billion airline ticket records, raising data-broker surveillance row
A controversy has erupted after it emerged that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission subscribed to a database containing more than 1 billion global airline booking records and used it to track personal travel. The data included names, payment information, origin and destination cities and flight numbers, and the SEC used automated alerts to flag new bookings. Critics say buying such data may bypass legal procedures. ARC said the program aimed to prevent crime and bolster national security.

Frontier Airlines to introduce Starlink inflight Wi-Fi in 2027
Frontier Airlines plans to introduce SpaceX Starlink-based inflight Wi-Fi in early 2027. CNBC reported that Frontier and four other low-cost carriers - Volaris, Wizz, JetSmart and Cebu Pacific - will roll out Starlink inflight internet from early next year. Frontier said it will put its first Airbus aircraft equipped with Starlink into service in early 2027. The five airlines operate more than 1,000 aircraft.
