SKT sells two-thirds of Joby Aviation stake, effectively exits UAM business
SK Telecom has effectively withdrawn from the urban air mobility business after disposing of two-thirds of its stake in U.S. manufacturer Joby Aviation. SKT said it sold 66.6 percent of its Joby Aviation shares in the fourth quarter of 2025, reducing its remaining stake to 0.7 percent from 2.1 percent. SKT invested about $100 million in Joby in June 2023 and formed a strategic partnership.

InterBattery 2026 opened in Seoul with 667 companies from 14 countries and 2,382 booths, as industry officials voiced concern over Korean battery makers\' shrinking global share and weaker factory utilisation. Executives said cost competitiveness and supply-chain and protectionist pressures are risks. Companies presented strategies focused on energy storage systems, solid-state batteries and growth markets such as robots and urban air mobility. Plans also included moving into LFP cathode materials and expanding production scale.

LS Group steps up new business push beyond power infrastructure into minerals
LS Group is expanding new businesses in key minerals based on its growth platform built in the power infrastructure business. It will foster battery materials such as precursors and nickel sulphate and rare earth permanent magnets as new growth pillars. The group posted record results in 2025, with revenue of 45.7223 trillion won and operating profit of 1.4884 trillion won across 12 companies. It plans to invest 7 trillion won domestically and 5 trillion won overseas over the next 5 years.
