Review of U.S. CLARITY Act finds bitcoin bull case overstated

A sweeping rewrite of the U.S. crypto regulation bill known as the CLARITY Act limits its expected impact on bitcoin, an analysis said. Contributor Isaiah Austin (이사야 오스틴) said the latest version is hard to see as a bitcoin-focused bill. Provisions would protect self-custody rights, shield non-custodial software developers and expand banks’ ability to handle digital assets. But clauses to codify bitcoin’s commodity status and ban retail CBDCs were removed, the analysis said.
