Samsung Electronics displayed a video on a Times Square billboard in New York to mark Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang’s 2026 Van Fleet Award. Samsung said it began airing the congratulatory video at 6 p.m. local time on Sept. 27. The video focused on Huang’s leadership and key achievements in advancing the AI industry. He was selected for contributions to innovation and to expanding U.S.-Korea cooperation in AI and semiconductors.

Conflicts inside and around Samsung Electronics\' unions are growing. The DX division union ran a Times Square ad criticising workforce efficiency moves and plans an open-ended rally from Sept. 18 outside Chairman Jay Y. Lee\'s home. Separately, police sent six people including a union chair to prosecutors over alleged creation of a member list. New labour ministry guidelines also narrow what can be treated as a legal labour dispute, limiting unions\' leverage.
