[Digital Today reporter Dae-geon Seok (석대건)] LG Electronics is continuing its endangered species protection campaign using a Times Square billboard in New York. The recently released video is the ninth in the series and focuses on flamingos. LG Electronics said on April 24 it has been running the LG Endangered Species Series since 2024 by continuously screening videos featuring endangered animals on the Times Square billboard.

The flamingo episode depicts flamingos struggling to feed due to water pollution and climate change. Some flamingo species have seen their populations plunge and are classified as endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The video conveys the impact of environmental destruction on wildlife through specific examples.

Separately from the billboard video, LG Electronics is also running an online campaign in cooperation with the U.S. National Wildlife Federation (NWF). The campaign introduces information needed to protect flamingos. The NWF is a leading private wildlife conservation group in the United States.

It is also carrying out on-site sponsorship activities. LG Electronics' U.S. unit is sponsoring a red-tailed hawk and a great horned owl being cared for at Flat Rock Brook, a nature conservation center near its New Jersey headquarters. Flat Rock Brook is a nonprofit nature conservation institution operated by the state of New Jersey.
