Solana Foundation launches protocol-level governance framework
The Solana Foundation introduced a new governance framework, Solana Governance Proposals (SGP), to let validators and delegators make protocol-level decisions on-chain. Validators with at least 100,000 SOL delegated can submit proposals. Voting power is based on delegated SOL, and proposals need backing from validators representing at least 15 percent of active staked tokens to proceed to formal voting. The foundation also broadened delegator rights and separated smaller upgrades into Solana Improvement Documents (SIMD).

Tezos releases testnet for quantum-resistant private payment prototype TzEL
Developers in the Tezos ecosystem have released a private blockchain payment prototype, TzEL, on a testnet to prepare for attacks using quantum computers. The system is designed to protect encrypted transaction data and payment metadata by applying post-quantum cryptography and zk-STARK proofs. TzEL focuses on countering “collect now, decrypt later” attacks. It uses Tezos’ data availability layer to handle large proof sizes.

Why bitcoin held up despite quantum computing fears, Bernstein says risk already priced in
Bernstein said the bitcoin market has already priced in a range of risks, including quantum-security worries, pointing to a roughly 50 percent fall from its October 2025 record high. The view follows recent Google research suggesting future quantum computers could break elliptic-curve cryptography in some blockchain designs. Bernstein said Bitcoin Core developers still have time to choose a post-quantum upgrade path. Others said the main challenge is social adoption, including moving users to new standards.
