Chinese AI startup DeepSeek is seeking its first external funding round with a target valuation above $20 billion, as Tencent Holdings and Alibaba Group discuss a possible investment, Cryptopolitan reported. DeepSeek is owned by hedge fund High-Flyer Capital Management and is in talks with outside investors, with terms still in flux. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang warned that optimizing DeepSeek models for Huawei chips could harm the United States.

Tencent has launched a global version of QClaw, an OpenClaw-based AI agent, The Information reported on Monday. QClaw drew strong interest in China last month, featuring one-click installation and integration with WeChat. The global version can connect to messaging apps including WhatsApp and Telegram, and offers tools to create agents for tasks such as travel planning, ticket purchases, tax filings, health and fitness routines, and sending reminders.
