Baeg Gyeong-hun meets Vietnam science and technology minister to build package-based cooperation framework

Baeg Gyeong-hun (배경훈), deputy prime minister and science minister, met Vietnam’s Minister of Science and Technology Huynh Thanh Dat in Seoul on Wednesday to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in science and technology. The two sides reviewed follow-up measures to implement a masterplan framework signed in April. They also discussed expanding cooperation to support technology and industrial innovation and foster future talent, highlighting VKIST’s role and stable operations.

South Korea, Vietnam sign framework to boost science, technology and development cooperation

South Korea’s Ministry of Science and ICT said it is strengthening cooperation with Vietnam in science, technology and digital fields following President Lee Jae-myung’s state visit. It signed a digital cooperation MOU with Vietnam’s Ministry of Science and Technology to share policies and pursue joint projects. The science and foreign ministries also agreed a masterplan framework on science, technology innovation and development cooperation, with follow-up support for the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology.
