One in five new Steam games uses AI, lowering development barrier but raising trust hurdle

AI is spreading across game development, lowering production barriers, but user backlash when AI use is revealed is creating new hurdles around disclosure, review and trust, an analysis said. SteamDB data showed 1,704 of 8,700 titles in Steam Next Fest carried a generative AI tag. Korean game companies are adopting generative AI widely, including across entire firms. Still, disputes over AI use and job insecurity concerns are growing.

Public AI market grows 11-fold in 10 years to nearly 3 trillion won a year

South Korea’s public-sector artificial intelligence market has expanded more than 11-fold over the past decade, reaching nearly 3 trillion won a year. A Software Policy and Research Institute study said AI-related service contract value rose from 244.3 billion won in 2015 to 2.82 trillion won in 2024, while the number of contracts climbed to 1,215. The share of AI in public ICT service contracts rose to 11.8 percent in 2024.

ElevenLabs supplies voice AI solution to SpoonLabs audio platform

ElevenLabs, an AI audio R&D startup, said on Tuesday it supplied voice AI technology to global audio platform SpoonLabs, cutting audio novel production time from several months to a few hours. SpoonLabs redesigned production as it expanded into story-based audio content. After testing multiple TTS tools, it selected ElevenLabs for intonation and emotion rendering and its single-platform features. SpoonLabs launched PodNovel in three markets in January and plans to expand its lineup.
