Ubase Group said on Tuesday it is moving to commercialise its AI Agent service that directly performs customer counselling tasks. The company said the service includes a conversational AI agent that analyses customer intent and context, and an execution agent that handles requests such as automatic transfers, instant payments, delivery tracking and card loss reports. It uses retrieval-augmented generation to draw on product, event and FAQ information and can provide personalised responses and recommendations.

Kakao said on Monday it has upgraded the voice generation technology of its in-house omni AI model, Kanana-o. The company said the model can generate speech reflecting speed, volume, pitch, emotion, intonation and intensity when users give instructions in natural language. It can handle complex and role-based prompts and follows the same instructions in English. Kakao also applied an in-house voice tokenizer, LM-SPT, to improve speed and efficiency.
