SKT launches \'T Roaming Safe Countries\' to block unwanted national roaming access

SK Telecom is rolling out a free add-on service designed to block roaming connections in countries customers do not want. The company said on Oct. 22 it launched \'T Roaming Safe Countries,\' which checks whether roaming is permitted when a device first tries to connect to an overseas mobile network and blocks access in non-permitted countries. SKT said it is the first domestic mobile carrier to offer such restrictions at the overseas network access stage.

SKT extends \'T Roaming\' data promotion until Dec. 31

SK Telecom is extending its overseas roaming data promotion through Dec. 31, citing expanded demand including a rise in subscribers choosing higher-capacity roaming plans and family roaming users topping 5.05 million. The company has offered up to 16 GB of extra data to customers on its baro roaming plans since April 23, with continued use available at up to 1 Mbps after data is exhausted. Additional perks include extra data for customers aged 34 or younger and discounts on certain plans.

SKT offers 70 percent discount on first roaming for 2030 customers, strengthens domestic outing benefits

SK Telecom said on Sunday it will run a summer holiday season T Roaming promotion for overseas travellers and expand T Membership benefits for domestic trips and outings. Through Aug. 21, it will offer a 70 percent discount on first-time roaming for eligible 2030 customers and increase data allowances on certain roaming plans. It is also holding a T Membership campaign through July 17 with discounts at Caribbean Bay and Ocean World.
