Berkshire CEO steps up $10 billion bet on Alphabet with two-track investment in AI and power infrastructure

Berkshire Hathaway is expanding its investment in Alphabet, betting on growth in the artificial intelligence industry while also seeking gains from rising power demand from data centres. Google\'s Gemini 3.8 Flash release near, spotlight on coding capabilities

Google\'s AI research organisation is set to release a new model, Gemini 3.8 Flash, as soon as Sept. 2 local time, the Wall Street Journal reported. The model, known internally as \"Schemakey\", was preferred by engineers over Anthropic\'s Opus in tests using Google\'s in-house coding tool Jetski. WSJ said strong benchmark results could address questions around Google DeepMind, which has faced delays and setbacks in its top-tier model lineup.

Google Gemini app tops 1 billion monthly users

Google\'s Gemini app has surpassed 1 billion monthly active users. TechCrunch reported that CEO Sundar Pichai said on social media platform X that Gemini is among Google\'s fastest-growing products and is the company\'s 14th product to exceed 1 billion monthly users. The figure covers the standalone Gemini app only, excluding usage through Search, Workspace and Android. Google said 63 percent of Gemini users talk directly to an assistant via voice features.
