Koreans\' generative AI usage rate at 39%, average daily use 49 minutes
About 38.9% of South Koreans have used generative artificial intelligence such as ChatGPT, a survey showed. The usage rate has risen for three straight years, from 12.3% in 2023 and 24.0% in 2024. Users spent an average of 49.6 minutes a day, with 68% using it for at least 30 minutes daily. Concerns about adverse effects, including misinformation, also increased.

KT renews CSAP certification for AICC solution to step up public sector push
KT said on Wednesday it has renewed Cloud Service Security Certification (CSAP) for its cloud-based subscription AI contact centre (AICC) solution, A’cen. The company plans to support stable AI counselling services in the public sector through 2031. CSAP is a cloud security certification programme overseen by the Korea Internet & Security Agency that evaluates whether security requirements are met for safe use by government and public institutions.

Nvidia steps up push into South Korea\'s AI ecosystem with CUDA-style lock-in strategy
Nvidia has released 7 million synthetic Korean-language personas for free and then added the multimodal model Nemotron3 Nano Omni, signalling the rollout of a four-step lock-in package linking models, data, frameworks and hardware in South Korea. The Nemotron-Personas-Korea dataset is available on Hugging Face under a CC BY 4.0 licence. Nvidia is also expanding the Nemotron3 lineup and open-sourcing post-training tools in its Nemo framework, while tying performance to its Blackwell hardware features.
