Samsung SDI, L&F sign supply deal for China-free LFP cathode materials for U.S. ESS market
Samsung SDI and L&F agreed to build a supply chain for key battery materials outside China. The two companies said on Monday they signed a mid- to long-term supply contract for cathode materials for LFP batteries worth 1.6 trillion won. Supplies are fixed for three years from 2027 to 2029, with an option for an additional three years. Samsung SDI plans to use the materials at its Indiana joint venture to produce batteries for energy storage systems.

Samsung SDI wins 1.5 trillion won ESS battery order in United States
Samsung SDI\'s U.S. unit Samsung SDI America (SDIA) has signed a battery supply contract for energy storage systems with a major U.S. energy specialist, it said on Sunday. The deal is worth about 1.5 trillion won, with deliveries to be phased in over four years from this year through 2029. The batteries will be produced at the Starplus Energy joint venture plant in Indiana, with NCA and LFP products to be supplied in sequence.

Samsung SDI, Korea East-West Power sign pact to jointly enter ESS market
Samsung SDI and Korea East-West Power will step up cooperation in the energy storage system business. The companies signed a memorandum of understanding on joint cooperation in global energy development projects at StarPlus Energy in Kokomo, Indiana. Under the agreement, they will jointly develop and invest in energy projects at home and abroad, identify new business models and broaden cooperation, including energy management and operations.
