Seven South Korean researchers selected for HFSP life sciences international research support
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said 7 South Korean researchers have been selected for the 2026 Human Frontier Science Program. The selections include 3 research grants, 2 accelerator awards and 2 fellowships. The ministry said 1,180 proposals were submitted for grants, the largest in HFSP history. Selected grant teams receive about $300,000 to $400,000 a year for 3 years for international joint research.

Major African mobile operators will take part across six countries, and GSMA expects 20 million new internet users if it succeeds. Analysts warn parts costs, rising memory prices and import tariffs could hinder production and sustainability without government and financial backing.

Dassault Systemes announced the winners of its 2026 AAKRUTI International Student Design Contest at 3DEXPERIENCE World in Houston. The University of Johannesburg’s UJ Wom+n in Tech team won with “Latch,” a pedal-driven breast pump designed to work without electricity or dedicated parts and to fit multiple bottles. Twelve teams from universities in nine countries developed projects using the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform and SOLIDWORKS, competing for $10,000 in prizes.
