Kepler starts full-scale operation of largest orbital computing cluster
Canadian space communications company Kepler Communications has moved to expand the space data processing market by operating what it describes as the largest computing cluster currently in orbit. Kepler equipped 10 satellites launched in January with about 40 Nvidia Orin edge processors and connected them via laser communication links. Kepler has 18 customers and recently added space software startup Sofia Space, which plans to run its operating system on Kepler’s network in space.
