Snowflake adds dynamic model routing to Cortex AI Gateway, cutting costs up to threefold
Snowflake said on Aug. 19 it added dynamic model routing to its Cortex AI Gateway. The company said the feature lets enterprise customers choose an automatic option instead of fixing a specific model, with the system selecting an optimal model for each task based on quality and cost. Snowflake said internal tests showed token costs could fall by as much as threefold for some workloads. Routing is offered without an additional fee, with charges based only on token usage.

Snowflake Korea appoints Lee Yong-seok as new country manager
AI data cloud company Snowflake said on Aug. 18 it has appointed Lee Yong-seok as its new Korea country manager. Lee, who has more than 20 years of experience in enterprise software, will oversee Snowflake’s overall business in South Korea. Before joining Snowflake, he led digital transformation and go-to-market strategies at Google Cloud for six years starting in 2020. He previously worked at Microsoft Korea for 16 years.

Salesforce expands zero-copy AI agent ecosystem with Google and Databricks links
Salesforce is expanding links between its AI agents and external data and cloud platforms such as Databricks and Google Cloud. It is highlighting a zero-copy approach that lets agents use data in place without moving or duplicating it, alongside data governance. The company is also combining Agentforce with Informatica’s data catalog, quality, MDM and governance tools. Salesforce said Agentforce annual recurring revenue rose to $1.2 billion in the first quarter, more than tripling from a year earlier.
