Unnet expands Tarantula AI data platform to support building agentic AI services

AI data infrastructure platform company Unnet said on Tuesday it will expand the supply of its Tarantula AI Data Platform, which connects companies' internal databases (DB), documents and business systems with AI.

Unnet has focused on providing the data environment required by AI applications. Development partners take charge of AI agents and business applications, while Unnet focuses on supporting data connectivity, performance, security and operational stability.

According to the company, Tarantula helps AI search and analyse companies' structured and unstructured data.

Partners can build business applications such as customer relationship management (CRM) and log analysis based on it. Unnet explained it also supports integration with open interfaces such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP) so that AI agents can access data and tools in a standard way.

It added that AI services can be implemented in on-premises environments without taking data outside, making it suitable for finance and public sectors where network separation and personal data protection regulations are strict.

The lakehouse is based on the Iceberg open table format, so it can also be linked with cloud services such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Snowflake.

Kim Ju-seop (김주섭), Unnet's CEO, said corporate AI adoption is advancing beyond the stage where people ask AI questions and get answers, to a stage where AI understands corporate data and performs tasks directly. He said the company will support the entire process of building AI services together with AI development partners based on the Tarantula AI Data Platform, which has been verified in mission-critical environments in the financial sector.
