Audit 2026: Lawmakers rap five big bank CEOs over hacking response, compensation and loan rates

Chief executives of South Korea\'s five biggest banks faced sharp questioning at a National Assembly audit over loan-rate calculations, personal data leaks and consumer protection. Lawmakers alleged banks offset cuts in add-on rates mandated by a legal revision by reducing preferential rates to raise interest income. XRP reserves diverge, down at Binance and up at South Korean exchanges

XRP reserves moved in opposite directions at Binance and South Korean exchanges, according to data cited by The Crypto Basic. Binance’s XRP holdings fell from 2.705 billion on Sept. 27 to 2.604 billion on Oct. 13. Upbit and Bithumb increased their holdings over similar periods. Withdrawal transactions accounted for a larger share of activity, while deposit shares fell. The figures do not show actual token flows or investor intent, the report said.

Scatter Lab\'s Zeta CEO absent from parliamentary audit due to U.S. trip, returns Oct. 14

Kim Jong-yoon, head of Scatter Lab, operator of AI character chat service Zeta, did not attend a parliamentary audit on Oct. 12 because of a pre-scheduled trip to the United States. A document submitted to parliament said the overseas trip had been set before he received a summons. Kim is in San Francisco with eight machine-learning staff for events and investor meetings. Scatter Lab pledged youth protection measures, including time and payment limits.
