XRP Ledger's daily payment count has risen to around 1.1 million.

On Sept. 28, blockchain outlet U.Today reported that XRP Ledger has sustained high network activity in September, with daily payments recently running well above the 30-day average.

Based on XRPSCAN tallies, XRP Ledger's 30-day average number of payments is about 887,600. But on Sept. 27 the network processed 1,143,754 payments. At the same time, broader ledger indicators were also high. Total transactions were about 2.7 million, active accounts numbered 17,800 and payment volume was close to $400 million (about 543 billion won).

The increase in payments does not appear to be driven by a one-off event. In September, XRP Ledger has seen multiple surges to more than 1 million payments, while transaction activity, active accounts and payment volumes also stayed high. U.Today explained that the rise aligns with broader expansion in XRP Ledger usage across September rather than a single specific incident.

Still, the fact that payments reached 1.1 million should not be interpreted as meaning 1.1 million users sent XRP. On XRP Ledger, a "payment" is used not only to move XRP but also issued assets such as stablecoins and other tokens. As a result, automated services, exchange infrastructure and applications can generate large numbers of individual payments.

Expansion of XRP Ledger's liquidity infrastructure is also cited as a factor behind the rise in payments. XRPSCAN data show about 31,200 automated market maker (AMM) pools, and the number continues to increase. Payment data alone cannot pinpoint the exact cause of the spike, but the explanation is that as on-chain liquidity and asset activity expand, transactions across the ecosystem can increase.

While network activity is expanding, XRP's short-term price trend looks uncertain. After breaking above a September downtrend resistance line, XRP rose from around $1.28 to above $1.60. It later corrected to about $1.49, and consecutive bearish candles suggested weakening short-term upside momentum.

In the short term, the $1.45 to $1.50 range is presented as a key price zone. If it holds, the breakout trend could stay intact and reopen the possibility of retesting the $1.55 to $1.60 range. If it recovers $1.60, the recent high of $1.65 could also draw attention again.

If it falls below $1.45, it could drop to $1.40 and then slide toward the moving-average support zone of $1.35 to $1.37. Network activity on XRP Ledger remains high, but an analysis said it is more important whether elevated activity persists than a single reading of 1.1 million.
