Bitmine has raised its ether holdings to more than 6 million ETH, closing in on its goal of securing 5 percent of total supply.
On Sept. 29, CoinPost reported that Bitmine said on Sept. 28 it had accumulated 6,001,302 ETH under a long-term ether holding strategy. Total assets, including cryptocurrencies, cash and marketable securities, were tallied at $17.2 billion.
The company’s ether holdings equal 4.9 percent of total supply of 122.1 million ETH. Bitmine has set a goal of securing 5 percent of total ether supply, and its current progress stands at 98 percent. It bought an additional 17,362 ETH over the past week.
Bitmine has increased its ether holdings every week since it began its ether treasury strategy on June 30, 2025. Bitmine chairman Tom Lee (톰 리) said the company secured that scale in about 15 months in connection with surpassing 6 million ETH.
The company also disclosed its asset breakdown. As of Sept. 27, Bitmine held 6,001,302 ETH, with an assessment price of $2,698 per token. It also held 213 bitcoin, while cash and marketable securities were tallied at $672 million.
A large portion of the ether is used for staking. Bitmine has staked 5,067,309 ETH, or about 84 percent of its total holdings. At market value, that amounts to $13.7 billion. The company expects staking to generate annualised revenue of about $358 million.
Bitmine is also expanding related business through MAVAN, a staking infrastructure for institutional investors. The platform was originally built for the company’s own ether management, but it is now extending services to institutional investors, custodians and ecosystem partners. Some of Bitmine’s ether is also staked through MAVAN.
The company estimated that if it manages all of its ether holdings in the future through MAVAN and partner staking operators, annual staking rewards would total about $424 million. The estimate applies an annualised yield of 2.62 percent based on the most recent seven days. As ether accumulation grows, the structure expands not only asset holdings but also the earnings base from staking.
Bitmine said it is currently the world’s largest listed company holder of ether and ranks second after Strategy by the size of crypto treasury assets. It has about 100,000 ETH left to reach its goal of securing 5 percent of total supply, and the market is expected to watch the pace of additional purchases and whether it expands staking.
