Sutskever\'s SSI signs long-term partnership with Nvidia, expands research with Vera Rubin
AI research lab SSI, founded by Ilya Sutskever, has signed a long-term partnership with Nvidia that provides access to the next-generation GPU platform Vera Rubin, TechCrunch reported. The agreement also includes an undisclosed investment, and Nvidia’s investment in SSI is reported to be in the billions of dollars. SSI said the deal will expand its computing resources and support its private research.

Konyang University team unveils Veritra, Korean digital identity full stack that passed OIDF conformance
A research team led by professor Seung-wook Jeong (정승욱) of Konyang University’s Department of Smart Security has unveiled Veritra, an SSI-based digital identity issuance and verification full stack that passed international standards conformance checks. The team said it supports both the EU’s EUDI Wallet requirements due by end-2026 and Korea’s mobile ID. It passed OpenID Foundation conformance for SD-JWT-VC and mdoc (ISO/IEC 18013-5).

Exchanges push to cut fee reliance as digital asset results freeze
South Korean digital asset exchanges are accelerating efforts to diversify revenue as trading values fall and profitability weakens. The five biggest won-market exchanges logged $27.8 billion in trading from May 1 to 17, down from earlier months. Dunamu and Bithumb reported sharp first-quarter declines in revenue and operating profit, with trading fees accounting for nearly all sales. Exchanges are expanding partnerships, overseas ventures and Web3 infrastructure, while facing regulatory uncertainty.
