IBK Industrial Bank of Korea first-half net profit 1.44 trillion won, down 4.4 percent

IBK Industrial Bank of Korea posted first-half consolidated net profit of 1.44 trillion won, down 4.4 percent from a year earlier, the bank said. Market share in SME finance rose to a record 24.6 percent as SME loans increased to 270 trillion won. The bank cited larger foreign-exchange valuation losses and higher loan-loss provisions as factors behind the profit decline. It will pay its first quarterly dividend.

Woori Financial first-half net profit 1.61 trillion won, non-bank contribution rises to 22.3%

Woori Financial Group posted first-half net profit attributable to owners of the parent of 1.609 trillion won, up 3.7% from a year earlier, helped by higher capital markets fee income and the effect of consolidating an insurer. Second-quarter profit rose 66.4% from the previous quarter to 1.005 trillion won. Non-bank units’ share of group profit rose to 22.3%. The group announced a 220 won per share cash dividend for the second quarter.

KB Financial Group creates 1.66 trillion won in social value in first half

KB Financial Group said it measured 1.66 trillion won in social value created in the first half of this year, including 834.0 billion won in the second quarter. It said the figure reflects the monetised positive impact of its ESG activities on customers, shareholders and investors, and local communities. The group cited inclusive finance, support for fraud victims, youth savings and jobs programmes, SME safety and transition support, and community education and cultural projects.
