SK hynix, Samsung Electronics battle for top market cap spot in South Korea
Samsung Electronics and SK hynix are locked in a dispute over which is the top stock on South Korea\'s KOSPI by market capitalisation. SK hynix briefly moved ahead of Samsung in common-share market value on June 22, seen as a first change in 25 years and 7 months. Samsung countered that it remains No. 1 when preferred shares are included, warning that excluding them could confuse investors.

Lee Chan-jin says single-stock leveraged ETFs only fatten brokerages
Lee Chan-jin (이찬진), head of South Korea\'s Financial Supervisory Service, voiced strong concern over overheating in single-stock leveraged exchange-traded funds tied to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix. He said extreme turnover concentrates gains on brokerages and other intermediaries rather than individual investors, and said the watchdog is considering additional investor safety measures. Lee also criticised a failed SpaceX IPO allocation at Mirae Asset Securities and said inspections of related asset managers will be expanded.

KOSPI hits record high again as SK Hynix tops market cap
South Korea\'s KOSPI reversed early losses on June 22 to finish at a record close of 9,114.55, up 0.69 percent. SK Hynix jumped 5.61 percent and overtook Samsung Electronics to become the KOSPI\'s top company by market value for the first time in 25 years and 7 months. Individuals and institutions were net buyers, while foreigners sold. The won weakened to 1,539.00 per dollar.
