KISA launches 18 next-generation security projects, selects 50 companies
The Korea Internet & Security Agency said it is pushing ahead with a 2026 information security new-technology support program with the Ministry of Science and ICT. It selected 18 projects worth 12.04 billion won across four areas, including AI-based security product commercialisation, fostering AI security firms, developing a Korea-style integrated security model and introducing zero trust. KISA also selected 50 companies to carry out the projects.

LLM-based AI is taking on a bigger role in corporate security technology stacks, with model developers and security vendors expanding cyber-focused deployments. OpenAI outlined plans to broaden access to its GPT-5.4-Cyber model for verified users, while Anthropic is limiting access to its Mythos Preview. Security firms and the government are also moving to address AI-driven hacking risks. Separate efforts to develop post-quantum cryptography are becoming more concrete.

S2W\'s Yang Jongheon says AI-era security must shift from blocking to continuous vulnerability management
Big data analytics AI firm S2W held a private seminar for clients on April 15 at its headquarters in Pangyo, Seongnam, on new security strategies for the AI era. Yang Jongheon (양종헌), head of S2W\'s offensive division, introduced AI-specific attack methods and said AI security should focus on defending gaps in “cognitive logic.” He outlined security principles and said ongoing vulnerability management, real-time detection and response, and frequent penetration testing are realistic approaches.
