Big data analytics artificial intelligence (AI) company S2W said on Sunday it had hired Baek Joo-seok (백주석), former head of Jarvis & Villains, as its new chief operating officer (COO) and vice president to accelerate execution of its mid- to long-term growth strategy after listing and strengthen management efficiency.
Before joining S2W, Baek served as CEO of Jarvis & Villains, a fintech company that operates the tax platform Samjjeomsam. He oversaw overall management including business strategy, streamlining organisational operations and external cooperation, leading the company's growth and stabilisation. He also worked for Samsung C&T and major domestic law firms for many years, building a broad career spectrum by experiencing both the systematic processes of large companies and the dynamic management environment of startups.
Baek is expected to serve as a strategic planning control tower covering the establishment and execution of domestic and overseas business roadmaps, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategic investments and investor relations (IR).
Baek said, "I will pursue a balance between expansion and strengthening fundamentals, and lay the groundwork for sustainable growth."
