Anthropic has acquired Stainless, a developer tools startup whose products have been used by rivals including OpenAI and Google, TechCrunch reported. The terms were not disclosed. The Information previously reported Anthropic was discussing a deal valued at more than $300 million. Anthropic plans to stop operating all of Stainless’ hosted service products, including its SDK generator. Existing customers will keep ownership of SDKs they created and can modify or extend them.

Southwest Airlines has banned humanoid and animal-shaped robots from being carried onboard or transported as checked baggage, regardless of size or purpose. The airline updated its website rules after a series of incidents involving robots on flights, including one that delayed takeoff while staff decided how to secure a device. Southwest said its concern is the aviation safety risk posed by large lithium-ion batteries used in such robots.
