Coupang posts 835 billion won Q2 operating loss, swings to deficit from year ago

Coupang moved into an operating loss in the second quarter after reflecting a penalty related to a personal data leak, pushing its first-half operating loss above 1 trillion won. Naver narrows commerce gap with Coupang by expanding from search to delivery

Naver is narrowing its gap with Coupang by expanding beyond search and price comparison into delivery and returns management. An analysis by Wiseapp.Retail put Naver and Naver Pay at 96.5 when Coupang is set at 100, though the figure may include external merchant payments. Coupang launches emergency relief system using Rocket Delivery network

Coupang will use its nationwide Rocket Delivery logistics network to support disaster victims through an emergency relief system. The company said on May 14 it is launching an “Emergency Relief Coupang Hope Box” programme to deliver relief items immediately to affected residents when disasters strike. Supplies will be stored at the Sejong fulfilment centre and shipped nationwide, then handed over onsite to Peace Winds Korea for distribution to evacuees.
