Digital asset alliances emerge as banks, brokerages and asset managers race to team up

South Korea\'s financial sector is moving competitively to form digital asset alliances, as brokerages expand exchange investment and token securities while banks and asset managers accelerate partnerships. Shinhan Financial Group signed an agreement with Visa to verify stablecoin platform functions and design models for the domestic market. Woori Bank and Coupang completed a proof of concept for real-time settlement. K Bank, Toss and Jeonbuk Bank also announced tie-ups, while some banks invest directly in custody firms as lawmakers debate digital asset legislation.

XRP trading clusters in London-New York overlap, with 23% in three hours

On-chain XRP trading is increasingly concentrating when the London and New York financial markets are open at the same time, an analysis shows. Evernode found about 23% of total on-chain XRP volume occurs during the three hours from 1300 to 1600 UTC on weekdays, up from about 14% in July 2025. The activity rise appears across order books, AMM pools and cross-currency payments, while the network remains open 24 hours.

XRP whales accumulate 642 million near $1 on hopes for U.S. SEC easing

Large XRP holders accumulated more than 642 million XRP near the psychological support level of $1 as the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission proposed measures to ease token fundraising rules. XRP traded around $1.0052 as broader crypto markets stabilised after last week’s drop. Big wallets increased holdings through additional purchases in early and mid-August, while large-value XRPL transactions surged. Ripple also raised funds via a private bond sale and reported diverging RLUSD burn trends across chains.
