[Digital Today reporter Yoonseo Lee] Ripple is investing in compliance infrastructure firm Notabene to expand institutional stablecoin payments, and will integrate RLUSD into Notabene’s B2B payments platform.

A blockchain media outlet, U.Today, reported on July 23 that the two companies will use the partnership to broaden RLUSD’s use in institutional payments and review a compliance framework that can link up with Ripple Payments.

Under the partnership, RLUSD will be integrated into Notabene Flow. Notabene Flow is a platform that supports business-to-business stablecoin payments. The companies also plan to examine how Notabene’s transaction authorisation and compliance infrastructure can complement Ripple Payments.

Notabene operates an on-chain transaction network aimed at regulated digital asset transactions. It connects more than 2,300 institutions across over 100 jurisdictions and has annualised transaction volumes exceeding $2 trillion, it said. The platform provides compliance, counterparty verification and transaction approval functions.

Financial institutions are expanding the use of stablecoins as a means of payment, but meeting regulatory requirements, risk management and counterparty identification remain challenges. Notabene’s infrastructure is designed to check such requirements before funds are transferred.

Jack McDonald (잭 맥도널드), Ripple’s senior vice president for stablecoins, said efficiency in payment infrastructure alone is not enough for stablecoins to become mainstream finance. He pointed to compliance, identity verification and transaction approval as key factors for broader institutional adoption.

RLUSD is Ripple’s dollar-pegged stablecoin, and Ripple is expanding it to financial and digital asset platforms for corporate payment use. The partnership adds another integration case focused on regulatory compliance for RLUSD.

Pelle Braendgaard (펠레 브렌트고르), Notabene’s chief executive officer, said financial institutions have largely moved past the stage of considering whether to adopt stablecoins and are focused on how to apply them to existing financial operations. Ripple and Notabene plan to continue expanding the reach of Notabene Flow to financial institutions worldwide.

This trend also aligns with changes in the regulatory environment. As new systems such as the U.S. GENIUS Act and the European Union’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation support the expansion of regulated stablecoin infrastructure, Ripple and Notabene plan to continue expanding Notabene Flow to financial institutions worldwide.
