FSC steps up sovereign AI drive with advanced industry outreach
South Korea\'s Financial Services Commission met domestic AI chip companies to discuss fostering sovereign AI and expanding support for the AI ecosystem. FSC Chairman Lee Eok-won (이억원) visited AI semiconductor firm FuriosaAI, toured its facilities and held a meeting with AI chip and model companies. The FSC said it will strengthen National Growth Fund support across the AI value chain. It also cited approval results totaling 84 trillion won, including 20 trillion won for AI.

Nota added to three technology and growth ETFs in a row
Nota, a company specialising in technology to make artificial intelligence models lighter, said on Sunday it has been added consecutively to three major South Korean exchange-traded funds. The ETFs are TIME KOSDAQ Active, KoAct AI Infrastructure Active and TIGER Internet TOP10. Nota cited its on-device AI capabilities, improved sales visibility and structural growth potential in AI and semiconductor software. It also said it is expanding cooperation with global semiconductor companies.

LG Uplus joins hands with FuriosaAI to develop AI appliance
LG Uplus said on Sunday it will work with domestic AI semiconductor company FuriosaAI to develop a “sovereign AI appliance” that can be used securely inside companies. The two signed an MOU at MWC26 in Barcelona. The device will process data only on-premise, combining LG Uplus’ enterprise AI platform, LG AI Research’s EXAONE 4.0 model and FuriosaAI’s NPU. They also plan to expand cooperation to NPUaaS and physical AI.
