Meta steps up cloud infrastructure push, considers selling AI models
Meta is stepping up efforts to enter the cloud business using data centres built with large capital outlays, Bloomberg News reported. It is preparing a cloud infrastructure service that sells AI computing power along with access to models, putting it in competition with major providers such as AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure. Meta is considering renting computing capacity and offering access to AI models running on its infrastructure.

Shinsegae Group kicks off two-track AI strategy with agents and infrastructure
Shinsegae Group is sharpening its AI strategy with global partners, pursuing two tracks in agents and infrastructure. It signed an MOU with OpenAI to build a ChatGPT-based shopping agent in the E-Mart app and to link Shinsegae products to ChatGPT shopping, aiming for a full AI commerce system by 2027. Separately, it signed an MOU with U.S. firm ReflectionAI to build a 250-MW AI data centre in Korea.

U.S. AI startup ReflectionAI teams up with Shinsegae to build large data centre in South Korea
U.S. AI startup ReflectionAI, which has received investment from Nvidia, will work with Shinsegae Group to build a large data centre in South Korea, the Wall Street Journal reported. The project is worth billions of dollars and is part of a U.S. technology export strategy pursued by the Trump administration, the paper said. The facility will have 250 megawatts of power capacity. ReflectionAI will handle chips, AI models and engineering, while Shinsegae will manage financing, real estate and permits.
