Nvidia GPUs become core AI resource as firms mobilise all channels to secure supply

Nvidia graphics processing units have become a key resource for AI infrastructure, pushing companies to change how they procure computing capacity. Firms are expanding beyond reliance on large cloud providers such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud, using neocloud specialists, online marketplaces, direct equipment purchases and customer-supplied hardware models. Demand continues to outstrip supply, and providers and customers are multiplying even as prices rise and prepayments and long-term contracts add to procurement costs.

PC AI race intensifies as big tech joins local, on-device push

Moves by major technology companies targeting local, on-device AI that runs on standard hardware are accelerating, with Microsoft joining Nvidia in an aggressive push. Microsoft unveiled a new Surface Laptop Ultra with Nvidia AI chips and highlighted “hybrid intelligence” that splits AI work between PCs and the cloud. Nvidia introduced a 64GB DGX Spark configuration. Competition is also intensifying in personal AI agents, as startups raise funding and companies roll out new models, platforms and acquisitions.

FSS urges brokerages to review IT security, respond immediately to investor losses

South Korea’s Financial Supervisory Service called on securities firms to conduct a full review of their information technology security and internal control systems after a series of hacking incidents in the financial sector. At a meeting with audit officials from 21 major brokerages, the regulator discussed measures to strengthen IT security and investor protection. It also urged firms to ensure internal controls work in sales operations and to shift audits toward prevention.
