China\'s three big tech firms order more than 3 million Nvidia chips as supply falls short of demand

China’s ByteDance, Alibaba and Tencent have reportedly ordered more than 3 million of Nvidia’s new RTX PRO 5500 workstation graphics cards, with the total exceeding $35 billion at list prices. Bloomberg reported the purchases reflect demand for export-compliant alternatives amid U.S. controls. Dell unveils two rugged laptops for industrial sites rated IP66 and 1.8-metre drop

Dell Technologies on Oct. 19 introduced two new rugged laptops for industrial and public safety sites, the Dell Pro Rugged 13 Extreme and Dell Pro Rugged 14, and said both are already on sale this month. Both use Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors with up to 50 TOPS NPU performance. The 13-inch full-rugged model is rated IP66 and tested for 1.8-metre drops, while the 14-inch semi-rugged model is rated IP53 and tested for 0.91-metre drops.

ZKsync unveils \'Airbender Prime\' zero-knowledge prover for Ethereum

Ethereum layer-2 network ZKsync unveiled \'Airbender Prime\', a zero-knowledge prover for Ethereum. ZKsync said tests showed it continuously proved 7,200 Ethereum mainnet blocks using a single Nvidia RTX Pro 6000 Blackwell GPU, with 99 percent of blocks taking under 10 seconds. The prover is based on the open standard RISC-V and uses hash-based STARK proofs, with a separate verifier provided for independent verification.
