AI factory build in Korea leaves server, cooling supply chain tied to Taiwan

Construction of gigawatt-scale AI factories in South Korea is getting under way, but server assembly and liquid-cooling component supply chains are controlled by Taiwanese companies, raising concerns that Korean materials and parts suppliers are being sidelined. Nvidia plans to ship fully assembled compute trays from its next-generation Vera Rubin platform, narrowing assembly partners to Foxconn, Quanta and Wistron. Cooling component suppliers Auras and AVC have also taken an early lead.

China\'s AI2 Robotics, XSquare Robot raise funding at $2.8 billion valuations

China\'s AI2 Robotics and XSquare Robot have raised investment after being valued at more than 50 billion yuan, or about $2.8 billion, each, SiliconANGLE reported on Sunday, citing Bloomberg. AI2 Robotics raised about $735 million in the round. The size of XSquare Robot\'s investment was not disclosed. AI2 Robotics develops general-purpose intelligent robots and its own vision-language-action model. XSquare Robot is known for its WaiAI model and Quanta series wheeled humanoids.

Megazone joins Taiwan\'s Techman Robot on robot education partnership

Megazone, the parent of AI and cloud company MegazoneCloud, has signed a partnership with Taiwan collaborative robot company Techman Robot Inc. focused on robot education and technology cooperation, it said on Thursday. The two companies plan to jointly run practical training programmes using Techman’s collaborative robots and pursue cooperation to build a physical AI and humanoid ecosystem in South Korea. They also plan to link Megazone’s WISE physical AI platform with Techman’s robot technology.
