Quantum Korea 2026 to bring global quantum technology together
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT will hold Quantum Korea 2026 from July 2 to 4 at Dongdaemun Design Plaza in Seoul. The event will bring together governments, researchers and quantum companies to share technology and policy. Participants include 56 companies and institutions from 12 countries, such as IBM, IonQ, Quandela and PASQAL. Exhibits and talks will cover quantum computing, communications and sensing, alongside an international conference and public programmes.

South Korea, France mark 140 years of ties with stronger alliance in AI and quantum
South Korea\'s Ministry of Science and ICT said it held the ninth Korea-France Joint Committee on Science and Technology with France\'s higher education, research and space ministry in Seoul on Thursday. The meeting, held on the 140th anniversary of diplomatic ties and during a French presidential visit, reviewed policy cooperation and discussed expanding collaboration in AI, quantum and basic science. Korean institutions signed MOUs with France\'s CNRS, and KAIST and Quandela agreed to deepen quantum manufacturing cooperation.

2026 to mark clearer proof of quantum advantage as quantum AI era blooms
An IBM Korea executive said quantum computing is no longer a far-off technology and 2026 will be a stage to confirm clearer quantum advantage. He forecast a quantum-centric supercomputing era in which QPU, CPU and GPU work together to support large-scale computing. Another speaker said combining quantum and AI will become a source of national competitiveness and called for nurturing quantum talent.
