Coinbase introduces USDC payment feature for AI agents for business customers

Coinbase is introducing a feature that lets its business customers receive USDC payments directly from artificial intelligence agents. From this week, customers can accept USDC sent by AI agents without separate integration, using the x402 payment standard, with Coinbase Payments handling settlement. The company is also expanding Coinbase for Agent, enabling real-time order monitoring via natural-language commands, and adding developer tools through the CDP x402 SDK. Security concerns remain as agents gain spending authority.

Ripple burns another 10 million RLUSD tokens, cuts supply and expands use cases

Ripple burned an additional 10 million dollar-pegged stablecoin RLUSD tokens, extending its recent supply-adjustment trend. Market participants are interpreting the burn as a normal supply management process tied to customer redemptions rather than a signal of weakening demand. RLUSD’s circulating size has fallen, with its market value at about $1.52 billion, down about $380 million from late May. Ripple is also expanding RLUSD uses in AI payments and donations.

Ripple joins Linux Foundation AI payments project to expand XRP and RLUSD

Ripple has joined the Linux Foundation’s newly launched x402 Foundation as a premier member to help develop an open payments standard for AI agents, applications and APIs. Ripple said it has integrated x402 support into the XRP Ledger, enabling AI agents to pay service fees automatically using XRP and RLUSD. More than 40 companies and institutions, including AWS, Google, Visa and Coinbase, are participating.
