Bamiteongwi fines Lotte Card 11,250,000 won for violating CI safety measures
The Broadcasting Media Communications Commission imposed an 11,250,000 won administrative fine on Lotte Card for violating obligations to protect linked information (CI). The commission said it also approved a recommendation for improvements after a special inspection conducted from September to November last year following a Lotte Card data leak incident. The inspection found logs containing CI and resident registration numbers were exposed without encryption during operation of its pay service.

Naver Pay to supply \'Npay Connect\' to Paris Baguette, integrating payments and reviews
Naver Pay said on Wednesday it signed a partnership with Paris Baguette to introduce its integrated offline terminal, Npay Connect. The terminal supports multiple payment methods including cash, cards, simple payments, NFC and facial recognition payment Facesign. Users can write Naver reviews and earn points directly on the terminal after paying, while merchants can secure reviews immediately. The companies plan a phased rollout from company-run stores in the second half.

SamSamSam unveils post-payment \'New SamSamSam\' letting users get tax refunds before paying fees
Jobis & Villains, which operates SamSamSam, said on March 17 it unveiled \'New SamSamSam,\' a post-payment option in the tax refund process. Users complete their refund application first and pay the service fee only after confirming the refund has been deposited into their bank account. The company said it also improved the application process by consolidating personalized surveys for items needed to maximize refunds onto a single page.
