KakaoBank said on Monday it launched its Dutch-pay service, '1/N Split Bread Sharing', to reduce the hassle of repeated bill calculations and settlement requests after gatherings or meals.
The service lets users request settlement by sharing a link, even with people who do not have a KakaoBank account or have not installed the app. Users can access it by searching for "Dutch pay", "settlement", "1/N Split Bread Sharing" or "N-bbang" in KakaoBank's AI chat window in the app.
People who receive the link can check the amount and transfer the money using their usual banking app. KakaoBank customers can send money through the app, and the bank said it reduced the previous inconvenience of everyone having to install the same app to settle up so it can be used with anyone without 부담.
It also links with KakaoTalk group chats so users can request settlement at once without searching for friends again. Users can also combine multiple payments, such as a first and second round, into a single request.
A KakaoBank official said "1/N Split Bread Sharing" was designed to ease recurring inconveniences in customers' daily lives. "We will continue to introduce convenient financial services that can be used naturally in everyday life," the official said.
