$5,000 flows into Satoshi dormant wallet, funds effectively unrecoverable
Bitcoin worth about $5,000 has newly flowed into a dormant wallet linked to Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto. The funds were sent from a Revolut co-owned hot wallet, making it hard to identify the sender. On-chain data show the sender tested the address with small transfers before sending 0.033 BTC. The recipient is a so-called Patoshi address cluster holding 1.11 million BTC, a holding described as untouched.

Did Satoshi Nakamoto anticipate quantum computers? Storage of 1.1 million BTC revisited
An analysis says the roughly 1.1 million bitcoins believed to be held by Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto are spread across more than 22,000 small wallets as a deliberate defence against future quantum-computer attacks. Bitwise researcher Andre Dragosch backed crypto analyst Marco Batistoni’s view that the so-called Patoshi pattern reflects intentional design. The debate comes as developers argue over BIP-361, which would shift to quantum-resistant signatures and potentially freeze inactive early-era coins.
