U.S. Senate delays Clarity Act to September; former SEC adviser says not over

The U.S. Senate has postponed consideration of the Clarity Act, a cryptocurrency market-structure bill, to September, clouding prospects for passage this year. Justin Slaughter, a former senior adviser at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Paradigm’s vice president for regulatory affairs, said the bill is not dead but that its chances have fallen sharply. He cited procedural hurdles, internal Republican opposition and political scheduling constraints.

Kakao Enterprise names Lee Jae-han CEO to strengthen AI infrastructure business

Kakao Enterprise has appointed former business division head Lee Jae-han as its new chief executive as it moves to expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure business. The company said it made the appointment at an extraordinary shareholders meeting and board meeting on Wednesday. It plans to maintain continuity in key businesses including AI infrastructure and hybrid GPU-as-a-service. Lee said AI data centres, cloud infrastructure and AI platforms are becoming more important.
