Cursor unveils Origin code hosting platform, challenging GitHub
AI coding tool Cursor has launched its own source code hosting platform, Origin, to expand its AI development environment, Techzine reported on Aug. 18. Origin rebuilds repository, pull request and code search and browsing features around AI agents. It is available as an early beta for paid subscribers. Users can create repositories, clone code via command line and upload to Origin. It also supports GitHub integration and can be disconnected at any time.

U.S. trading firm Jane Street bets $990 million on spot bitcoin ETFs
Jane Street holds a bitcoin position worth about $990 million through spot bitcoin exchange-traded funds, equivalent to 15,394 BTC at current prices, Bitcoin Magazine reported. A filing submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission showed the firm allocated the sum across major spot bitcoin ETFs, with $828 million concentrated in BlackRock\'s IBIT. The disclosure comes as Jane Street reported a monthly loss in July of about $15 billion.

More than $385 million flowed out of bitcoin spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs) last week, but bitcoin held near the $64,000 level with little movement. Investors began pulling money from major spot bitcoin ETFs after an early August rally, reversing the prior week’s inflows of more than $865 million. Middle East tensions and macroeconomic uncertainty weighed on sentiment, with the largest outflows from BlackRock’s IBIT and Fidelity’s WBTC, while a Morgan Stanley fund posted net inflows.
