[DigitalToday reporter Choi Jae-won (최재원)] China's Vivo has launched its latest foldable smartphone, the X Fold6, in global markets. The product was first unveiled in China in June and will be sold in some European markets, but will not be officially released in the United States or Britain.

Tech outlet TechRadar reported on Wednesday that the X Fold6 uses a book-style foldable design. It can be used folded in a form closer to a standard large-screen smartphone, and when unfolded it uses an 8.02-inch inner display. It weighs 235 grams, lighter than Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, at 254 grams.

Its strengths are the battery and camera. It has a 6,900 mAh silicon anode-based battery and supports up to 80W wired and 40W wireless charging.

On the back, it includes a 200-megapixel main camera using a 1/1.4-inch sensor, a 50-megapixel 3x periscope telephoto, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. It applies Zeiss T* coating and photo styles, and supports shooting equivalent to 200 mm with an optional teleconverter attached.

Multitasking using the large screen has also been 강화됐다. It can run up to 4 apps at the same time in split-screen mode and adjust window sizes. In 'Origin Workbench', one main task and 4 secondary tasks can be managed on a single screen.

Vivo's X Fold6 appears focused on reducing compromises in battery, camera and multitasking that have often been pointed out in foldable phones. Still, expanding its global distribution network is expected to determine its competitiveness in the market compared with its hardware strength.
