U.S. public fast-charging infrastructure topped 80,000 ports in the third quarter, with 4,106 ports added and station count rising to 14,614, according to an industry report cited by Electrek. Tesla added the most ports and opened larger sites. Charging power levels continued to rise and session volumes increased, though national average utilization was little changed. Average prices rose, led by Tesla Supercharger increases over the past year.

More than half of U.S. drivers say they are more likely to consider buying an electric vehicle than a year ago, a survey showed, even as U.S. EV sales growth slows. In the HERE-SBD EV Index 2026, 53% said they considered EV purchases more positively. The survey of about 4,000 drivers in the United States, Europe, India and Australia was conducted in June and July.
