Mirae Asset Securities cuts short-sale collateral loan rates further
Mirae Asset Securities will further cut interest rates on short-sale collateral loans to reduce customers’ interest burdens. The brokerage said the rate cuts will take effect on Nov. 2 and will vary by daily usage amount, lowering rates by up to 2 percentage points. Rates currently applied uniformly at 7.95 percent will be reduced to 5.95 percent for amounts up to 30 million won and to 7.45 percent for amounts above that level.

Sony tightens PS5 Pro purchase conditions in Japan with play time requirement, lottery sales
Sony has tightened conditions for buying the PlayStation 5 Pro in Japan, limiting applications to users with a Japan-registered Sony account and verified play history. Applicants must have logged at least 60 hours of play on PS5 or PS4 between Sept. 27, 2024 and Sept. 27, 2026. Applications open on Oct. 7, with a lottery used if demand exceeds stock. Approved buyers can purchase one unit from Oct. 26 to Nov. 2.

Strategy pushes daily dividends for four preferred stocks including STRC
Bitcoin-holding company Strategy is seeking to change the dividend system for four U.S.-listed preferred stocks, including STRC, to a daily basis. The plan does not increase dividend rates or total payouts, but breaks the record date into daily increments to accelerate payments. The board approved the proposal and shareholders will vote on it on Oct. 28. If approved, all calendar days become record dates, with payment on the next business day.
