Low-cost 1TB SSD era ends; three models to buy before prices surge

Shunsuke Nakato (나카토 슌스케), a senior executive at Japanese chipmaker Kioxia, warned that rapid price increases for 1TB SSDs are likely to accelerate. He said this year’s production has already sold out and the era of 7,000 yen low-cost 1TB SSDs is over. In the United States, 1TB SSDs cost at least $100, with some NVMe models above $130. Nvidia RTX 5090 prices soar amid shortages

Nvidia\'s RTX 5090 graphics card has all but disappeared from the U.S. and some overseas markets, as consumers face extremely high prices and scarce stock, TechRadar reported. Third-party sellers list the card at $3,500 to around $4,000, while major U.S. retailers are not selling stock directly. Some consumers see buying a high-end prebuilt gaming PC with the RTX 5090 as more economical, even considering dismantling systems to obtain the GPU.
