Ericsson says mobile data flows shift as uplink growth outpaces downlink
Mobile data uplink traffic is growing faster than downlink as more people create content on smartphones and use cloud services, Ericsson said. In a survey of 55 telecom operators, 43 reported higher uplink growth than downlink, including 17 where it was more than 1.5 times. Ericsson said AI adoption could accelerate the trend, and it forecast global 5G subscriptions and 5G standalone network slicing services would continue to expand.

KT to provide priority emergency rescue communications for National Fire Agency devices
KT will provide a priority emergency rescue communications service to help ensure stable disaster response by South Korea\'s National Fire Agency. The service is designed to give firefighters stable communications quality in emergencies when traffic surges, and will apply to corporate-registered phones, tablets and IoT equipment used for public services. KT said about 8,400 work devices, around 60 percent of the agency total, use KT lines and will support the service.

SK Telecom is stepping up efforts to spread new communications technology beyond the 30th anniversary of CDMA commercialisation. It is accelerating construction of an \"AI highway\" while planning to complete the introduction of 5G standalone mode this year. The CDMA rollout helped spur South Korea\'s mobile market, with subscribers topping 10,000,000 in 1998 and the ICT industry\'s value-added share of GDP rising to 13.1 percent in 2025.
