KT said on Tuesday it was selected as No. 1 in three categories — ultrafast internet, IPTV and mobile communications — in the 2026 Korean Quality Satisfaction Index (KS-QEI) survey run by the Korean Standards Association.
KT ranked No. 1 for an 11th straight year in ultrafast internet, a 10th in IPTV and a seventh in mobile communications. The company said it received high marks for stable network operations, improvements to products and services, and efforts to enhance customer experience.
KT uses an AI-based network operating system to analyse traffic and quality data and detect abnormal signs early. In mobile communications, it is advancing next-generation technologies such as voice calls over 5G standalone mode (SA), or VoNR, and network slicing.
It is also pursuing improvements to products and services. In mobile communications, it expanded customer choice through an integrated LTE and 5G pricing system. For its IPTV service Genie TV, it applied AI-based content discovery and on-device AI technology to improve convenience of use. In customer support, it is advancing an AI-based counselling system and strengthening customer protection activities such as preventing spam and voice phishing.
KT plans to continue improving network quality based on AI and telecommunications technology and to expand products and services tailored to customers' usage environments.
Choi Se-joon (최세준), an executive director and head of KT's Customer Strategy Division, said, "We will continue to raise service quality that can be felt in everyday life based on AI and telecommunications technology, and repay customers with differentiated customer value."
