AI-driven cyber threats spread, boosting calls for bigger role for security firms
Concerns are growing that AI models such as Anthropic’s Mythos could be abused for cyberattacks, while hacking incidents linked to AI supply chains have emerged. That has strengthened expectations that security firms’ growth potential will rise, a view that appears to be supporting major security stocks. Companies including CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks have posted gains over the past month, outpacing a software-focused BlackRock IGV index.

AI spread drives sixfold rise in data leaks, security strategy needs reset
ITUN said on Tuesday that Netskope, a global SASE company for which it serves as exclusive distributor in South Korea, warned of AI data leakage risks in its 2026 Cloud and Threat Report and strengthened its security strategy based on Netskope One AI Security. The report said corporate use of AI tripled in the past year, while data leaked externally through AI apps rose sixfold. More than 40 percent of leaked data was classified as core assets such as source code and intellectual property.

AI fear spreads to cybersecurity sector as firms say core business not easily disrupted
Cybersecurity stocks fell after AI developer Anthropic unveiled Claude Code Security, a tool that scans AI-written code for vulnerabilities and suggests patches. Shares of CrowdStrike and Zscaler slid 9 percent and Netskope nearly 10 percent. Big Tech is also expanding AI security efforts. Still, some view the market reaction as excessive, arguing Claude Code Security may compete with code-security tools but cannot replace broader defences. Investors also doubt firms will consolidate all needs into a single AI vendor.
