National Science Museum selected for Local 100 for second straight year
South Korea’s National Science Museum said on March 3 it was selected for the second phase of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Regional Culture Promotion Agency’s Local 100 project, marking a second consecutive selection after the first phase. Local 100 chooses 100 attractive regional cultural spaces through public online voting and expert review. The museum plans to expand an AI special exhibition on climate and ecological issues and youth challenge programmes this year.

Gwacheon National Science Museum offers Lunar New Year hands-on science exhibition
Gwacheon National Science Museum will open its permanent exhibition halls free of charge through Feb. 18 during the Lunar New Year holiday and run hands-on programmes themed on the senses, it said on Thursday. A tactile special exhibition opens at its creative studio, with activities such as making postcards and braille bookmarks. The museum will also offer a wind-themed craft programme and an insect exploration programme, and host a winter Sci-POP experience exhibition combining science displays with holiday games.

National Science Museum accepts applications for \'Nationally Important Science and Technology Materials\' registration
South Korea\'s National Science Museum said on Jan. 28 it will accept applications through March 13 from individuals and organisations that hold and manage science and technology materials that have significantly contributed to the country\'s scientific and technological development. The programme covers domestic tangible materials with historical and educational value that require preservation and management at the national level. Final selections will follow document screening, site inspections and a comprehensive review.
